Tottenham Hotspur have appointed Igor Tudor as interim manager until end of the 2025-26 season.

Tudor’s temporary appointment came with the club sat 16th and five points clear of the Premier League relegation zone after 26 matches, which led Tottenham bosses to sack Thomas Frank after a 2-1 loss at home to Newcastle.

The 47-year old Croatian described the opportunity to oversee Spurs’ survival challenge as “an honour”, and spoke in his first interview with the club’s website about the importance of the challenge that lies ahead.

“I understand the responsibility I have been handed and my focus is clear. To bring greater consistency to our performances and compete with conviction in every match.

“There is strong quality in this playing squad, and my job is to organise it, energise it and improve our results quickly.”

Spurs’ Sporting Director, Johan Lange added: “Igor brings clarity, intensity and experience of stepping into challenging moments and producing impact.

“Our objective is straightforward – to stabilise performances, maximise the quality within the squad and compete strongly in the Premier League and Champions League.”

Tudor played as a centre-back in his playing career which included a spell at Juventus – which included two Serie A titles in a nine-year spell between 1998 – 2007 -, where he eventually went on to become manager between March to October 2025, when he was sacked after an eight-match winless run.

His sole managerial success came at another of his former playing clubs where he had two separate spells as a player, as he led Croatia’s Hajduk Split to the 2012-13 Croatian Cup.
