Karnataka captain Devdutt Padikkal and KL Rahul forged a 200-run partnership in the ongoing season of the Ranji Trophy against Uttarakhand at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Sunday.
After being asked to bat, Karnataka lost Mayank Agarwal early. However, Rahul and skipper Padikkal smashed centuries, piled on the runs and dominated the Uttarakhand bowlers.
This is currently the second-highest second-wicket partnership of the season. Vimal Khumar and Pradosh Ranjan Paul’s 307 against Nagaland earlier this season is the highest second wicket partnership of the ongoing season.
Earlier in the quarterfinals, Karnataka sealed its spot in the semifinal with a tense four-wicket victory over Mumbai at the MCA-BKC Ground. Rahul’s century helped his team chase down the target of 325.
