Fourth Round – Arsenal vs Wigan – Sport Grill

Arsenal look to continue their quadruple title bid against 2013 champions, Wigan in the fourth round of the 2025-26 Emirates FA Cup.

Victory would see Mikel Arteta’s Gunners advance to the fifth round for the first time since they last won the competition in 2019-20 season.

Wigan meanwhile are looking to reach the fifth round for the first time since their run to the Quarter-Finals in the 2017-18 edition.

Team News

William Saliba is set to return for Arsenal after he missed their 1-1 draw at Brentford in the Premier League, due to illness.

Kai Havertz is ruled out after he missed the cross-city visit to the Bees due to a muscle injury.

Mikel Merino (foot) and Max Dowman (ankle) remain absent.

Wigan could be again without James Carragher after he missed their last two matches due to a knock.

Harry McHugh remains sidelined with an ankle injury.

When is Kick-Off?

Arsenal host Wigan at Emirates Stadium on Sunday 15 February at 4:30pm GMT, live on TNT Sports 3 in the UK.

Stat Attack

  • Arsenal won their only previous FA Cup tie against Wigan in April 2014, albeit 4-2 on penalties after a 1-1 draw in their semi-final in the 2013-14 edition.
  • Wigan have lost each of their previous cup ties played away to Arsenal at Emirates Stadium (L2), albeit in the League Cup as they lost 3-0 and 2-0 in November 2008 & 10 respectively.
  • Arsenal have won four of their last five FA Cup ties against EFL opposition (W4, L1).
  • Wigan have lost their last four FA Cup ties against Premier League opposition (L4), since they beat Manchester City 1-0 at home in the fifth round in the 2017-18 edition.

Prediction

Having been held to a frustrating draw at Brentford in a display where they dominated but often lacked the clinical edge to break down the Bees’ resolutely resilient defence, Arsenal now need to just reset because this is the ideal bounce-back game on their home turf with their superior quality.

With their sole win of 2026 having come in the third round at Preston, Wigan’s priority is fighting for League One survival so they need to be defensively solid but clinical if want any chance of causing a cupset.

I however just can’t see Arsenal losing this such is their home form this season so this could be one-sided quite quickly if Wigan aren’t careful.

Prediction: Arsenal 3-0 Wigan
