Pedro Neto’s hat-trick helped Liam Rosenoir’s Chelsea cruise to a 4-0 fourth-round victory at his former team, Hull City in the 2025-26 Emirates FA Cup.

Neto opened the scoring with his 40th-minute finish from Liam Delap pass, before he added his second goal from his 51st-minute corner kick which bounced in under Dillon Phillips’ legs.

Neto netted his third goal from a 71st-minute one-two move with Delap which sealed the victory and fifth-round spot, and marked Delap’s third assist after he set up Estevao to net their third goal in the 59th minute.

Post-match Neto explained to BBC One that he was delighted at Chelsea’s attitude and was particularly pleased with the manner that he scored his second goal.

“Really pleased. The mentality of the team was amazing. To win 4-0 away in this competition is really tough.”

“Normally the ball has to go there. We started to celebrate, I thought Jorrel Hato touched it but he said no it is your goal. Then I started to celebrate. Most of all I am happy to go through to the next round.

“We have to keep winning but first of all we have to keep improving.”

Elsewhere, Josh Windass’ strike saw Wrexham beat Ipswich 1-0 in an all-Championship tie.

The fifth-round draw will be held on Monday 16 February at 6:35pm GMT live on TNT Sports 1 in the UK.

Just 21 months on from his controversial dismissal after Hull narrowly missed out on the 2023-24 Sky Bet Championship Play-Offs, Rosenoir brought his latest club to Humberside but Alejandro Garnacho saw a ninth-minute shot saved.

Both teams had chances to break the deadlock in the 16th minute as Hull’s Cathal McCarthy headed wide from Ryan Giles’ cross, before Chelsea’s Mamadou Sarr played Estevao forward with a long ball but the Brazilian blasted his shot over the bar.

Further chances were wasted by both teams until Delap set up the breakthrough goal against his former team – having coincidentally been on loan at time of Rosenoir’s spell at Hull – as he laid a pass off for Neto to half-turn and curl his shot into the bottom right corner in the 40th minute.

Hull however managed to keep their deficit to a single goal until half time but Dillon Phillips proved their undoing as he blocked Andrey Santos’ 50th-minute header, which allowed Neto to net his second goal from a corner-kick which bounced in under Phillips’ legs.

Delap meanwhile continued to haunt his former loan team as he burst up the right flank with a 59th-minute pass which was swept in by Estevao for Chelsea’s third goal.

Rosenoir’s Blues then wrapped up their ruthless display with an one-two move in the 71st minute as Neto teed up Delap, but the striker instead laid the ball back across for his teammate to smash in past Phillips to book their fifth-round spot.
