FC Bayern announced on Sunday that it will be without its captain, Manuel Neuer, for the foreseeable future.
The goalkeeper sustained a torn muscle fibre in his left calf during Saturday’s Bundesliga fixture against Werder Bremen, where the Bavarians notched a 3-0 win.

The injury was confirmed following a detailed assessment by Bayern’s medical department.
Defending Bundesliga champion Bayern Munich currently leads the standings with 57 points from 22 matches — a six-point lead over second-placed Borussia Dortmund.
